Renting at Accora Village

Keys & locks

Residents will receive two sets of keys upon move-in. More keys can be purchased or replaced at any time – contact us at (613) 366-5020 or drop-by the Accora Centre.

If you are locked out of your home at any time, please call us at (613) 366-5020.

Please note we can only allow access to registered leaseholders and occupants with identification.

Utilities

If you have questions for:

  • Hydro Ottawa – please contact 613-738-6400.
  • Enbridge – please contact 1-877-362-7434.
  • If you are uncertain about your utility service and responsibilities, please check your Lease Agreement.

Additional utilities including internet, phone, cable, etc. are optional & up to you. Contact your desired service provider to set-up an account.

Increases

Each year, your rent increases by a certain percentage as determined by the Ontario Government. Capital expenditures completed in your area/building may result in Above Guideline Increases (AGI).

Fees & Payment Details

Our preferred payment method is Pre-Authorized Payments – the rent is automatically taken out of your bank account on the first day of every month! Contact connect@accoravillage.com or 613-366-5020 for more details and to register for Pre-Authorized Payments. Ask us about our special promotions.

Moving Out

If you decide to end your lease with us at Accora Village, we ask that you provide us with a minimum of 60 days’ notice before you plan to move, in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act.

Your Property Manager will inspect your home before and after you move out. If repairs are required, you may be charged a repair fee.

Repairs resulting in charge-backs include but are not limited to:

  • Scratched/damaged floors
  • Walls painted dark and/or bright colours
  • Broken appliances
  • Scratched, burned, or peeled countertops
  • Items left behind after move-out

Caring For Your Home

Recycling & Garbage

  • All high-rise apartment buildings have garbage chutes on each floor. Instructions are located beside each garbage chute.
  • All townhomes and garden homes have designated Earth Bins for garbage and recycling. To find yours, download the Earth Bin map.

Balcony

  • Residents are prohibited from hanging laundry (clothes, carpets, blankets, etc.) from their balcony.
  • Residents are prohibited from storing garbage, bicycles, mops, brooms, etc. on their balcony.
  • Residents are prohibited from throwing any items (garbage, cigarettes, etc.) from their balcony.

Pets

  • Resident are required to keep their pets on leash at all times.
  • Resident are required to pick up their pet’s waste using a plastic bag and dispose of it in the garbage bins provided by Accora Village.

Parking

Visitor Parking

  • Each resident is given 28 visitor parking passes each calendar year.
  • Visitors are required to have a pass from (12:00 am - 8:00 am).
  • Passes can be printed at the Accora Centre – all you need is the visitor’s license plate, make of the vehicle, and the dates for which the pass is required.
  • Visitors without passes will get a ticket or be towed at the vehicle owner’s risk and expense.

Safety & Security

Accora Village is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for you and your family.

Security features include:

  • 24-hour on-site security services
  • Security cameras
  • Electronic key fob entrances

Fire Alarms

  • Please do not tamper with the fire alarms, smoke detectors or intercom systems in your apartment.
  • Check and replace the batteries in your smoke detectors two times a year. The detector will make a short “Beep” sound if the batteries are low.
  • Please notify us immediately if your alarms are not working.
  • Plan an escape route from your home in case of fire. Fire escape plans are located beside the elevators in all high-rise buildings.

We comply with Canada’s private sector privacy law, PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection & Electronic Documents Act), to give you confidence in knowing your personal information will be secure in our hands. When you share your personal information with us, we:

  • Protect your personal information at all times
  • Only share your personal information with permission from you, or if required by law.
  • Tell you exactly what your personal information will be used for.

If you feel your information has not been taken care of appropriately, please contact us for more information. You may contact us to withdraw permission to share your information at any time.
