The community is 150 acres of tree lined streets, ideal for people interested in an active and healthy lifestyle. Ferguslea Properties is committed to providing our residents and community with a best-in-class experience.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Information Technology, the Yardi Administrator  will address outstanding technical issues and address what can be done in-house and escalate what requires L2 support to Yardi. The Yardi Administrator  will perform user and security role reviews, implement changes in workflow, aid in the development and usage of Yardi-specific system documentation, and address issues with reporting. They will also help familiarize IT support personnel with best practices for system administration and play an active role in the creation of automating reports to generate data for a Business Intelligence platform.

This contract would be for 3 months, with the possibility of a 3 month extension. We are open to both contract employment or a contract for services.

The Yardi Administrator  will bring the following:

  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other technology products
  • Formal IT training in systems management and administration
  • Technically savvy with a solid working knowledge of Yardi.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ‘desk side manner’ and very client-focused
  • Proficiency in written and oral English
  • Experience with Apple hardware (MacBook, iMac, iPhone, iPad) is a definite asset as we are exclusively Apple based.

Statement of Work – Yardi Administrator

Ferguslea Properties has a contract opportunity for an experienced Yardi Administrator.  The scope of work is the following:

Address a backlog of technical issues:

There are a number of outstanding technical issues left over from the implementation phase as well as the first year of use.  Address what can be done in-house and escalate what requires L2 support to Yardi.

These issues include (but are not limited to):

  • Correspondence templates not working,
  • Issues with reserving a rentable item (like a parking spot) for a future resident,
  • Dashboards not displaying consistently from user to user,
  • Dead links in some pages (i.e.: help or documentation links),
  • Completed purchase orders not being emailed out to vendors,
  • Default views that interfere with established business processes,
  • Manage the issue lifecycle and integration of resolution measures with the end user community.

Perform a user and role security review:

There has been significant organizational change since go-live.  Security groups do not necessarily align with operational requirements and segregation of duties is not appropriately managed.  Conduct a user and role security review, propose a schedule of changes and implement them upon client approval.

Implement changes in workflow:

Restructuring of some business processes requires some changes be made to the workflow supporting Purchase Orders.  Required changes are documented.  Review, comment and implement.

System Documentation:

Any and all changes made to Yardi should be appropriately documented.  There is currently no framework for Yardi-specific documentation.  Create the framework and populate it accordingly, as changes are made.

Address a number of problems with reports:

There are a number of reports (both SSRS and system) that are producing unexpected results.  Document what the expected results are, determine the cause for the variance and correct the issue.

Help familiarize IT support personnel with best practices for system administration:

There is comparatively little Yardi expertise on staff. Conduct a series of short training sessions with IT support personnel such that best practices for system administration are maintained.

 Automating reports to generate data for a Business Intelligence platform:

Ferguslea is developing a Business Intelligence practice. Much of the desired data is contained in Yardi.  Configure scheduled reports (or other means of pushing data) such that the BI dashboard can be populated.
