A range of games for sports fans of all ages, including basketball and football. Keep an eye out for “Hoop Head” the 9’ tall human basketball net, who will be walking around performing tricks. New this year is 3 on 3 basketball that comes with a coordinator!

Street Hockey - Bring a team or meet one there! This zone will rotate 5 on 5 pick-up games of street hockey throughout the event. Comes with a coordinator, in case things get too competitive.

Miscellaneous Icon

Villagefest will also have some special guest appearances from some of Ottawa’s favourite mascots (hint: they might be the mascots for the Fury, the Sens and the 67’s!). Watch out for strolling magicians, jugglers, and stilt walkers wandering around the event. Make sure to bring a camera (or just your phone).

Are you closing Woodridge Crescent to traffic for this event?

Yes, we will be closing a portion of Woodridge Crescent located in front of the Accora Centre to make this a true street party! We will have street hockey located in this area. Please note that this street closure will affect your driving route on September 8th, as well as some bus routes. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Where can I park?

We encourage residents to walk or bike to the event if possible, as parking will be limited to street or visitor’s parking in the areas surrounding the event (the parking lot outside the Accora Centre will not be accessible for parking). We will also be driving around the community in golf carts to provide residents with transportation to and from the event. If you would like to request a specific pick up time and location, please call us ahead of time at 613.366.5020.

Do I have to pay anything to attend?

No you do not - this is a free event for our residents!

Should I bring anything?

We recommend bringing a water bottle, as we will have a water fill-up station and want to reduce usage of disposable cups! Depending on weather, we also suggest a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes.

What happens if it rains?

This is a rain or shine event.

Will lunch or dinner be served?

We will be distributing snacks throughout the event, however we will not be serving a full meal. We recommend eating lunch before attending!

Can I bring my dog?

Of course! We ask that all dogs remain on leash, and stick to the dog zone – dogs will not be allowed in the kids zone.

Do I need to RSVP?

No you do not – you may simply show up at the event!

Can I bring my friends/family that do not live at Accora Village?

This event is intended to be a celebration for Accora Village residents only.

Is there an age restriction?

There is no age restriction – even our youngest residents are welcome! However, some activities (such as bouncy castles) may have age and/or height restrictions.
