About Our Pools

Indoor Pool

At 18.25 metres long and 1.37 metres (4.5 feet) deep, our saltwater pool offers residents a beach area, mushroom fountain sprinkler, and swimming lanes. The indoor pool and hot tub are located inside our Recreation Centre.

Indoor Pool Temperature: 28 – 30 degrees Celsius (82.4- 86 degrees Fahrenheit)

Hot Tub

We also provide a saltwater hot tub with hydrotherapy jets – located inside our Recreation Centre.

Hot Tub Temperature: 38– 40 degrees Celsius (100-104 Fahrenheit)

Outdoor Pool

Our heated outdoor pool is 15 metres long and 3 metres (10 feet) deep. The outdoor pool is located behind Deschenes Court at 220 Woodridge Crescent. The outdoor pool is open weekends in June and 7-days a week in July and August.

Our reserved swims are available for all Accora Village residents!

Pool Admission Standards

For children:

7 and under – They must always be accompanied by parent/guardian 16 years or older who is in the pool with them. Children under 8 are not eligible to complete the swim test.
8-15 – Did not pass swim test: Always accompanied by parent/guardian 16 years or older who is in the pool with them.
8-15 – Passed swim test: Parent/guardian 16 years or older doesn’t need to be in the water but needs to supervise from the side.

Swim test:

The indoor pool swim test consists of one length of face in front crawl; breathing can be up or to the side, as long as the swimmer does not touch the bottom of the pool. Following completion of the length, the swimmer is to promptly push off the wall and tread water for 30 seconds, staying in one spot, positioned vertically in the water with their mouth above the surface.

The outdoor pool swim test swim test consists of two widths of face in front crawl; breathing can be up or to the side, as long as the swimmer does not touch the bottom of the pool. Following the completion of the second width, the swimmer is to promptly push off the wall and tread water for 30 seconds, staying in one spot, positioned vertically in the water with their mouth above the surface.

*Please note as well, ratios always default to the youngest participants age group. For example, if there are two 7-year-olds and one 5-year-old, we must follow the 5 and under ratio guidelines. During family swim times, regardless of age, an adult must be in the pool area with their children.

We offer a range of water-based activities, including recreational swims for adults and families, the Lifesaving Society Swim Program, advanced aquatics classes, and aquatic fitness classes.

Swimming Lessons

We offer swimming lessons of all levels starting from babies ages 6 months to adults 18+. Private and Group lessons are available.
