Seniors’ Activities December

Happy Holidays Accora Village Seniors!

One of our many Accora Village traditions is to celebrate the holidays with a lunch for the seniors in our community. With restrictions on in-person gatherings, we are unable to safely host this year. We are excited to announce that we will be offering some exciting programs online instead. Please join us for one or all of our virtual programs being offered exclusively to residents age 55+.

Virtual Paint Night

Wednesday, December 16 from 7:00-9:00pm.

This holiday season, get creative with a virtual Paint Night hosted by our Recreation Facilitator, Ashley. Participants will receive a free canvas, a pack of brushes, a small selection of paints, and the log-in information for our online Zoom lesson. All skill levels welcome as Ashley will provide step-by-step instruction to create the winter scene.

Paint kits will be available for pick-up from the Accora Centre after noon on December 14, or by request, may be delivered. Limited space available, click here to reserve your spot.

Virtual Psychological First Aid – Self Care

Mental health is an important part of overall health and wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel, and act. Coping with stress in a healthy way will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.

This holiday season Accora Village invites you to take some time for self-care. Reserve a space in the Canadian Red Cross’ Psychological First Aid-Self Care course before December 30 and Accora Village will cover the course fee.

In the Psychological First Aid Self-Care course, learn the effects of stress, with an emphasis on building and using a personal self-care plan. Learn strategies to prevent, recognize and cope with stress. A link to the online course will be sent to you within a week of registration and you will have one month to complete the course. It typically takes about 90 minutes to work your way through all the modules.
