Garbage, Recycling & Composting

Accora Village’s garbage, recycling and composting program is focused on reducing waste and our carbon footprint. The Accora Village team regularly monitors our community’s waste output and works to identify opportunities within the community to reduce waste and increase recycling.

Within Accora Village, there are a variety of garbage, recycling and composting services.

All our apartment buildings have garbage and recycling services. In 2021, a green bin pilot project was launched in our Cobalt, Opal, Haydon, Moodie and Franklin apartment buildings with the intention of rolling the program out to the other buildings in the future.

All townhomes, garden homes and executive garden homes have designated Earth Bins for garbage and recycling.

Residents interested in participating in the City of Ottawa Green Bin program can request a green bin by clicking here or calling 3-1-1.

Residents who live in the townhomes, garden homes and executive garden homes are encouraged to dispose of bulky garbage beside their closest earth bin. 

For residents in high rise apartments, bulky items should be left beside the loading dock.
