Ready to get back to fun? The lockdown is ending and recreational activities are returning once more. Accora Village has some seriously exciting, family-friendly activities available, all of which are fun, healthy, and educational. Our community is also surrounded by some fantastic distance-friendly places to explore, so get up and out this summer without worry!

Outdoor Pool

Looking forward to a swim? Single adults and households can now reserve the outdoor pool at the Accora Centre. Everyone is limited to a single time slot per day and, due to demand, it may take up to a week to get your spot, so book as soon as possible. There is also an indoor pool opening July 1st. Remember to be courteous to other renters in the building, and don’t remove your mask until you get in the water. Click here to reserve your spot today!

In-Person Outdoor Fitness Classes

With a limited capacity of 10 people, and a safe 3-metre distance maintained between each participant, outdoor fitness classes are resuming at Accora Village. Come join us out in the green space behind the Accora Centre and sweat it out with the rest of us!

Virtual Sessions for Adults and Kids

Whether it’s a Code Club for kids or Bingo night, there’s a virtual activity waiting for everyone right here in the heart of our community. We want to be together again, safely and while following local health protocols. Let’s enjoy each other’s company while maintaining a safe distance, right here in Accora Village! Get in touch with us for details.

Paint Night

Paint Night is fun for everyone, regardless of your skill level! The step-by-step instruction and carefree, fun-loving atmosphere means you don’t have to be an experienced painter to enjoy it. Paint Night is resuming in the green space behind the Accora Centre, with a limited capacity of 10 people per session, so reserve your spot in advance. All equipment will be provided and sanitized before use, and none will be shared.

Learn to Canoe!

Your waterborne adventure starts as soon as you paddle out of the Nepean Sailing Club and canoe along the Ottawa River, a perfect way to spend some time in the open water on a hot summer day. You’ll also be acquiring a new skill while making lasting memories! Registration is open for two people from the same household, so remember to bring a partner. Accora Village will provide all the safety equipment needed, along with the canoe and paddles.

Visit Britannia Beach

Who says summer’s a bummer? Located on the Ottawa River, Britannia Beach has a lot to offer. It’s a favorite for swimmers and sun-soakers alike. With its tables and barbecue pits, it makes a great place for a family picnic. It also has wide fields for households interested in field games.

Explore Andrew Haydon Park

Andrew Haydon Park makes for another great outing, and it’s just a stone’s throw from our community along the Ottawa River. If you’re interested in biking, this is the place for you, and we offer rental bikes! The area has great trails to walk or hike along as well. The park itself is dog-friendly, so it’s a perfect place to take your pet on the weekend. For those who like being out on the water, Andrew Haydon Park is a great spot to unwind and watch the world go by.

Many of these activities come free with a platinum membership at Accora Village. Don’t have one yet, or haven’t rented with us? Contact us to find your perfect apartment here in Accora Village, and let’s welcome you home!
