Accora Recreation Centre Closure and New COVID-19 Updates

Dear residents,

The provincial government of Ontario announced today the City of Ottawa will be returning to a full lockdown beginning on April 3, 2021, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please find below details related to the impacts of this closure on Accora Village services and amenities.

Accora Recreation Centre Closure

In accordance with the provincial guidelines, and to ensure the continued health and safety of our members and employees, the Accora Recreation Centre will be closed including pool and fitness rooms and all in-person programming effective April 2, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. Virtual programs will proceed as planned. For more information or to reserve a spot in a virtual program, visit accoravillage.com/reserve. A communication will be distributed to all residents and members with information about the re-opening of the Accora Recreation Centre once we are permitted to do so.

Service and Maintenance Update

As of April 3, 2021, only essential service requests (i.e. heat, electrical, plumbing, water leaks, fridge/stove/washing machine repair, etc.) will be addressed by our maintenance staff and contractors. All other (non-essential) service requests will be recorded and addressed at a near-future date. COVID-19 pre-screening will be completed prior to any essential work, and team members will continue to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while inside your home.

Service and Maintenance Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday (8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.)

Saturday and Sunday (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

Protecting Yourself and Others

All residents and their guests are required to wear masks or face coverings at all times while inside all Accora Village buildings, especially lobbies, corridors and other shared spaces. Please ensure you do your part to protect the health and safety of yourself, your guests and Accora Village staff.

Help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by social distancing on elevators. Current guidelines recommend no more than two people per elevator, unless passengers are from the same household.

Please maintain a safe distance of 2 metres in the Laundry Room and other communal areas.
